Server 2008 R2 Standard
So I had an issue a bit back where some software that doesn't co-exist well on a DC... was installed on a DC.
It made a mess of the DC to the point that I demoted it, then dcpromo'd it back and it seemed to come back fine, at least in regards to AD.
Group Policy however does not seemed to have survived this fiasco. While I can open the GP console any attempt to edit or create a GP fails with a network not found.
and I'm seeing error 13508 on the other DC related to replication to it.
So what are my options... I could demote go through the process (i think kept the URL) of removing all instances of it from the other DC's records... then repromote it... but will that resolve the issue?
Any other suggestions? I've done some research on this and will continue to I'm just wondering if anyone come across this before and had an exact set of fix instructions....
