So I've finally got roaming profiles and folder redirection up and running in my test OU.
The problem is, as soon as a profile is converted to a roaming profile, it's taking the entire start menu with the profile. This replaces all of the start menu objects with links to where they are located in the DFS namespace. Not only is it obnoxiously slow compared to local start menu items, but every time you click one you get an "are you sure you want to open this?" security warning.
The catch is i've explicitly told it not to roam the start menu.
Folder redirection is configured as follows:
Appdata/Roaming - DFS/profiles/%USERNAME%/Appdata/Roaming
Documents - users home drive.
Explicit roaming exceptions:
"Documents;Appdata\Roaming;Downloads;Saved Games;Virtual Machines;Pictures;Music;Videos;Start Menu"
The odd thing is, if I browse to the DFS share...
